Sonia Perez Orchestrated the Offense to the Tune of 54 Assists

Blauvelt, NY...The women's volleyball team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Lady Chargers of CACC North Division rival Dominican College 3-1  (21-30, 30-18, 30-18, 30-24).  The win is also the Lady Deacons first road win of the season.   

                                                                                                                 
Sophomore Ursula Pereira led all attackers with a 31 kills and a .349 hitting percentage, three aces and nine digs.  Junior Celeste Lindsey had 11 kills, while Nilmara Zanette added 10 kills in the win. Junior setter Sonia Perez orchestrated the Lady Deacons offense with 54 assists.
 
The Lady Chargers were led by junior Kinikia Collier with 11 kills. Junior Theresa Hanneman added six kills, while setter Kaitlin Earl had 22 assists in the loss.
 
With the win, the Deacons improve to 4-13 overall and 3-1 in the CACC, while the Lady Chargers falls to 2-6 on the year and 2-3 in the CACC.  The Lady Deacons will be back in action on Thursday September 27th when they host Caldwell College in a CACC North Division match-up at 7:30 PM.
